Britain and America have forged a key commercial pact that will guarantee zero tariffs on British drug exports entering the American market.

Key Provisions of the Pact

In exchange for the tariff guarantee, the UK has committed to increase funding on medicines through the National Health Service (NHS). This pledge ensures that import taxes on these crucial goods will stay at nothing for a duration of the next three years.

This development is in response to previous warnings to hike import taxes on branded pharmaceutical imports, with potential rates discussed up to 100%.
